Chris has been involved in the renewable energy industry since he completed a
Master of Science degree in low energy architecture and renewable energy systems in 2001. Upon completion of the degree he worked at the Building Research Establishment (BRE) in Watford where, on behalf of the then Department of Trade and Industry, he managed the UK's first multi-technology grant scheme for renewable energy - the Clear Skies programme. Taking the lessons learned from this programme, Chris conceived of, developed and launched the MCS scheme which now regulates the entire industry and sets the quality benchmark. Although MCS is now run by an industry body Chris is
still heavily involved serving as Chair of the MCS Solar PV and Solar Thermal technical working groups (responsible for the MCS technical standards). He also serves on the MCS Governing Body. Since leaving BRE in 2009, Chris took on the role of Design Manager for one of the UK's largest installation contractors - the Mark Group, and grew the Design Department from 4 staff to over 70. Although managing Poweri, he still provides Mark Group with technical and strategic support.
It was Chris's commitment to quality that resulted in the conception of both the MCS and Poweri. It is for this reason that quality is not just skin deep for Poweri but a fundamental principal behind everything the Company does.
In his spare time, Chris is the Cub Scout Leader (aka "Akela") for Cropwell Bishop Scout Group and can often be found being run ragged by 20 or more 8 to 10 year old Cub Scouts.
Paul is responsible for everything that Poweri does on-site, both pre and post contract. He has over 21 years experience in the construction industry and is a highly qualified Electrical Project engineer. For the last 14 years Paul has worked for EMCOR, one of the largest Mechanical/Electrical Contractors in the United
Kingdom, giving him a wealth of understanding in all aspects of electrical engineering.
While Paul was working for EMCOR he rose through the business from a hands on electrician to the role of Electrical Project Engineer.
Paul has worked on a variety of projects while working for Emcor Including Commercial, Industrial, Custodial, Educational, Sports Halls. The last project he worked on for Emcor was the new council offices (10 Woodcock street) for Birmingham City Council, seeing the project from the design stage through to project completion, managing all aspects of the electrical installation, testing and commissioning.
In Paul's spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and (time permitting) likes a nice game of golf and is currently taking archery lessons.
Your solar PV investment could not be in better hands.
Miles joined the renewable energy industry following a successful sales and marketing career with Japanese giants Toshiba and Sharp. His work within Sharp saw a move from Marketing Manager for consumables in the photocopier industry to champion the solar division in the UK and Ireland, keeping a close eye on developments in Europe and shaping the UK strategy. During his time at Sharp Miles represented the solar industry at trade shows, in pre-FIT meetings with DECC and at party political conferences. Following a successful career within Sharp, PV Manufacturer and global market leader, Miles joined a UK national installer of energy saving products to head their PV Division in the lead up to, during and post the introduction of the FIT in the UK.
Miles has been involved in both residential and commercial projects including large residential schemes through to iconic installations such as the installation of Sharp PV product on the top of the HSBC tower in London Docklands. More recently he has successfully negotiated contracts for the installation of PV totalling in excess of £50 million. Ensuring everyones Health and Safety without compromising on the quality of installation are at the core of his principles.
A tripod's 3 legs allows it to be stable on any ground. With the changing landscape of the renewable industry in the UK, it is Miles's experience in man management, market analysis, planning and negotiation, combined with his network in the renewable industry, that - along with Chris and Paul - gives Poweri the stability to ensure we are not only here today but there to support our customers old and new in years to come.
Outside of work Miles was a Captain in the Territorial Army and still enjoys outdoor pursuits in all forms, often seen with his dog Maggie close by. He has a passion for food and cooking with a penchant for good sushi gained during his many trips to Japan for product and budget meetings.
